We all know without a doubt that Whatsapp is the most popular messaging app. It makes it easy to communicate with your friends, family, and acquaintances provided you have their phone numbers saved in your phone.
It can however be very annoying when you have to save someone’s contact on your phone before sending him or her a message on Whatsapp, though you might just want to ask them a few questions and not necessarily chatting with them more often.
There are some third-party apps that are available to resolve this problem but these apps end up stealing your data and temper with your security and privacy.
In this article, I will show you how to send messages to people on WhatsApp without saving their contacts first. This method doesn’t require any third party app and it also works on both iOS and Android.
It might seem a little bit cumbersome but once you apply it, you’ll get used to it.
How to send WhatsApp messages without saving the contact
First, open the browser on your phone. It could be Google Chrome, Opera, Mozilla or Safari. I prefer Chrome though.
Now type https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=XXXXXXXXXXX into the search bar and tap enter. Replace the XXXX… with the person’s contact. Add the country code but don’t include the + sign.
So, for example, the whole thing will look like this https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=233240000010.
Once you tap enter, a window will pop up asking if you want to send a message to the number in question. Tap send message.
This will automatically redirect you to WhatsApp and a chat window will be opened for you to start chatting with the person whose number you haven’t saved on your phone. It’s as simple as that.
Now you don’t need to save everyone’s contact on your phone before chatting them on WhatsApp. You can easily chat with everyone who is not in your address book with this simple trick.
