Talks about foldable smartphones have been going on for years but it’s now becoming a reality. A Chinese company by name Royole showed off its foldable smartphone called FlexPai at CES in Las Vegas.
One cannot tell whether it’s a smartphone or tablet but you can basically use it as a phone and a tablet at the same time though the tablet form is the most usable one. The device has a 7.8-inch display screen and runs on Android.
Folding the AMOLED display leaves a small gap between the two halves of the screen. The phone is bulky but can fit in a purse. Once folded, all your content moves to one side of the screen. It’s not smooth and fluid but it works anyway.

The developer version of the device is available for purchase in the US for $1,300.
It’s interesting to note that Royole has managed to beat the likes of Samsung and other phone manufacturers to the foldable smartphone market.
