MTN, Ghana’s leading telecommunication network has officially launched its 4G+ router, the MTN Turbonet. Present at the event which took place at the Accra Digital Centre last night were top MTN officials such as Mr. Selorm Adadevoh, CEO of MTN Ghana, General Manager for MTN Business Mr Samuel Addo, Mr. Samuel Koranteng, the Corporate Services Executive of MTN among others.

The Deputy Minister of Communications, Hon. George Andah, The Director of Corporate and Consumer Affairs of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Nana Dufie Badu and other Government officials were also present to rally their support.

According to Mr. Selorm Adadevoh, CEO of MTN Ghana, the purpose of the Turbonet is to help deliver affordable fiber-like internet experience to Ghanaians. He also described the MTN Turbonet Router as the “the first revolution of high-speed home broadband in Ghana”.

He also added that 12,000 units of the MTN Turbonet Routers have been sold without any form of advertisement since its pilot in February 2019. Reviews and feedback from customers so far have been phenomenal and key factor in launching the device and making it accessible to all.

The MTN Turbonet Router can be purchased for 300 Ghana Cedis. The device comes with a special MTN 4G+ sim card which is not supposed to be used in any other device apart from the Turbonet Router. Users who use their Turbonet sims in other devices will have their sim blocked.

Aside from its speed, the MTN Turbonet also boasts of the best and most affordable data packages. For as little as 20GHS, one can purchase 5GB of data. Other data packages available are

Data can be purchased via Mobile Money with the shortcode *170# or with the Turbonet short code *5057#. The shortcode not only allows you to buy data but also manage your Turbonet account by checking data balance, checking broadband availability and more.

Unused data can also be rolled over when you activate the data roll-over feature. This means that unused data from the previous month will be added to that of the next month upon renewal.

A single Turbonet Router can be connected to 32 devices at once and promises a speed of up to 300Mbps on a good day.
